Lynx Review
Lynx Review
by Chris Pickett
The Atari Lynx, an excellent game system, largely dismissed by the game playing communitity, but still has a very loyal gathering of followers. My little page doesn't do this fine piece of hardware justice, so please check out Edward Castle's Atari Lynx page, by far one of the best video game pages around.
I have both a Lynx and a Lynx II and I must say that I really like this system. I do like my Lynx II better, it feels more comfortable in my hand and looks cooler. Of all the color systems, the Lynx is the most affordable. At most places that still sell the Lynx, you can get a Lynx II with 4 games PLUS an AC adaptor for under $95. You can't beat that deal anywhere. The only system that can come close is a Game Boy, but that's B&W and doesn't fairly compete.
There is a large game market, both used and new, on the internet. Games are very affordable, with most being under $20 NEW.
Games that I have:
- Pinball Jam (pack-in)
- Shadow of the Beast (pack-in)
- Pit Fighter (pack-in)
- Checkered Flag (pack-in)
- Jimmy Connor's Tennis
- Joust
- Rampage
- Xenophobe
- Pac-Land
- Road Blasters
- Gauntlet
- Gates of Zendocon
- Shanghai
- Turbo Sub
