Blaby Computer Games
| Blaby Computer Games was a software company based in Blaby in Leicestershire, they produced computer games for home computers in the early 1980s.[citation needed] It was founded in January 1983 when John Bailiss, who already owned and ran a successful video business. He realised the potential of computers, especially the ZX Spectrum.[citation needed][original research?] At the time there were few other companies in the field, producing games for the Spectrum, and it seemed like a good idea.[original research?] Two enthusiasts, 16-year-old Gary Sewell and Gary Casewell submitted their ideas for John to market, and the result was BCG's first three games: Gold Digger, Confusion, and Chopper Rescue.
They went on to produce more than 10 Spectrum games, many based on popular arcade games. It was also one of the longest-standing supporters of the Dragon 32 computer. One first from the company was a promotional VCR showing the games being played through. |
