GCW Zer0 Vs Dingoo A320
Many of you ask what the GCW Zer0 brings more than the Dingoo A320, both the quantity and quality of emulators it is important. Some even think that Zer0 will interest only when it will be able to run the PSX and N64 optimally.
So what is it really?
From a perspective of features, they have much in common, but Zer0 clearly has advantages in addition to it!
Here are the ones that seem to be most relevant. The Zer0 features a LCD screen 3.4 "320 * 240 against in a LCD 2.8" with the same resolution on the A320. Both consoles run through a Ingenic MIPS processor at 1GHz but Zer0, against the 430 MHz of the A320. The processor is supported by 512 MB of RAM on Zer0, against 32 Mb of the A320 ... Another advantage of size, Zer0 offers Wi-Fi, an HDMI port and support for OTG ...
Nothing to say about the paper Zer0 wins hands down!
When I have to give my opinion on a console, you start to get used to, I always talk about the controls, because it is they who will determine how pleased I'll have to play.
Imagine a Ferrari engine in a Citroen 2CV and you will understand why this is important ...
My biggest frustration on the Dingoo A320 is its small size. If you have large hands, you are quickly taken cramp. In addition to the gates of the latter does nothing to settle this bad feeling. The directional pad (D-Pad) on it is pretty good. The action buttons (A, B, X, Y) have a slightly shorter race from my point of view and are too soft.
Zer0 on the playability is much higher! The size of the overall console suits me well (it was a real portable console), the directional pad does its job (although I wish it had a little more flexibility), action buttons though smaller on the Dingoo A320, have a great race and a "hit" very pleasant. The gates are clearly real trigger (unlike the Dingoo) and their use is intuitive (although they fall under the fingers).
Finally, the big plus of the Zer0 is the addition of the analog stick (Type Slider PSP), which provides a real plus in the gameplay, including some FPS, as you can see on my video comparison of Eduke32 (Duke Nukem 3D) !
On emulation, then it deserves a little more detail!
A similar OS, is expected to see an equivalent emulation on top Zer0 given its characteristics also higher than the Dingoo ...
In fact it does not work quite like that. Most emulators available on the Dingoo A320 (and there are many!) are not necessarily compatible in the state on the GCW Zer0.
They must therefore be able to recompile the run on Zer0. The latter is not yet officially released some ports hang out. You should also know that the consoles "prototypes" Frankenzer0 also called, have only 256 mb (as Zer0 used for this test) instead of 512MB planned for SE, KS and public versions. So finally it is quite difficult to compare.
What is quite remarkable is that some games that "rowing" on the Dingoo, become fluid on Zer0. In the following video you'll run games SNES games SegaCD and DosBox on two consoles and emulators with the same ... I let you enjoy the result.
If you want a little more detail, know that FBA on the Dingoo is unable to run CPS3 games as these games run in slow motion of course, on the Zer0.
OpenBor that could be long to load on the Dingoo, becomes fast on Zer0. Mythical games like StarFox or Yoshi's Island on SNES become playable on Zer0 ... and the list goes on!
So to conclude, the Zer0 is the continuity of the Dingoo, but actually provides more in terms of both ergonomics, ease of playing, the gameplay and emulation of some games. It should also be said that Zer0 should be followed by a significant number of developers, so we should soon have a plethora of new emulators or improvement of existing ones.
We told you a port of Half Life is being on the Zer0?

GCW-Zero - A New Open Source Emulation Handheld Coming Soon
Despite there being a wealth of handheld emulation options with the likes of the OpenPandora, GP2X Wiz, Gamepark 32, Dingoo, Sony Xperia Play, and even the GameGadget, another one is due to enter the ring. The GCW-Zero from Game Consoles Worldwide is an all new handheld set to be released in the near future, promising plenty of emulation options.
Whilst little about this emulation device seems to be published online elsewhere, the technical specs of this juggernaut are speaking for itself. Armed with a Ingenic Jz4770 1GHz Processor and the ability to output 1080p video via HDMI, this upcoming handheld might be the ultimate answer to enjoying classic games not only on the go, but on our HDTVs.
The device's website states that the majority of emulators and applications already running on the likes of the Dingoo will be made available for the GCW-Zero, also stating that a Nintendo 64 emulator is currently in the works. Recent videos showcasing the device have proven that arcade emulation via MAME is looking rather impressive, as is the Sony PlayStation 1 emulator.
