Keith Iida (Jaguar review) 27th Mar 2012 05:30Originally brought out on the Amiga computer by Gremlin, Zool 2 for the Jaguar is an above average side-scrolling platform game. You get to choose from either of two intergalactic ninjas (Zool or Zooz) as you romp through the Nth dimension in an effort to dispose of Krool and his soldiers. Zool has the speedster of the two and has better jumping ability, while Zooz has the luxury of weilding a deadly whip.
Zool is still your basic platform game, but the numerous amount of interesting power-up items and varying stages keep it interesting from start to finish.
Although not of the caliber of Rayman, Zool 2 has crisp, colorful and detailed graphics that helps to create a whimsical atmosphere. Control is spot-on, and the action never slows down or gets jerky. It's no Rayman, but it's no Bubsy either (thank god.)
