Mad Max, for the NES is a top-down driving game that puts you in control of the Interceptor, the car from the movies. There are two modes of play, Road War and Arena.

In Road War you drive in the desert, fight bandits, buy fuel, and throw dynamite at anything in your path.

Arena mode shows up every other level in the game and has you fighting a set amount of bandit vehicles in an enclosed arena. These arenas come equipped with death pits that send other cars, or your own car, deep down to their death.
