"An energetic crowd-pleaser that's sure to satisfy in every conceivable way."

The lads from Monty Python could always put on a first class performance. Self-confident but not in an arrogant way, they were assertive and sure of themselves but not overly imposing. Much like this game, coincidentally. Actually, it's not a coincidence at all. I did that deliberately.

Monty Python's Flying Circus was one of the very first games where some bored executive sat down one day and said ''I know, let's make a cash-in game of something really popular that will sell loads and make us all rich so we can retire early and get out of this horrific place now oh yes''. It is based off the series Monty Python, which you will have heard of unless you don't exist or unless you are a penguin.

This game plays vaguely as a platformer, and the levels are based off the various famous sketches from the Monty Python series. Items appear in the form of cans of spam (spamity-spam, spamity-spam indeed) and other objects, such as dead parrots and that type of thing. Little things and fishies that would do the Monty Python boys proud. Swim, little fishies, swim! Gameplay is great fun providing you know a little about the subject matter (but kind of empty and only briefly satisfying if you aren't familiar with the humor behind it). It will satisfy you greatly in this case. It is remarkably entertaining and intriguing, and it knows what it's doing.

Monty Python's Flying Circus is a game with experience and it will handle you like you've never been handled before. Oh yes. Yes yes yes.

Graphics are mind-blowing considering when the game was created. This is certainly a game with looks, and you just know that given some maturity those looks would only improve. It is a rugged, meaty looking game but with a familiar softness and intelligence lurking under the surface, attracting would-be players with its wit and charm. The appearance is humorous with lots of pretty icons and diverting sparkle, but ultimately it is a complex affair despite being an early platform game. On one level in particular, steering your fishy through a river collecting cans of spam, there are plenty of diverting Python-esque pretty objects in the background. Likewise, the audio content is pure Monty Python. I need say no more on that subject, as anyone who knows Monty Python will know what I'm talking about and those who do not will have no interest in this game anyway.

Ultimately, this is a game which I would wholeheartedly recommend playing (once again, so long as you really do know Monty Python). Great fun, and soooooo satisfying and manly, you'll not regret playing it even for an instant and just want to relive the experience repeatedly and in a variety of interesting locations.
