Acorn Electron Utilities

Below are some useful utilities that can be used in converting files, playing back sound, etc.

Tape Loading

These utilities allow you to get programs off your old audio cassettes and into your computer, or vice-versa. Naturally, this will require a cassette player, a suitably configured sound card and cabling between the two.

FreeUEF r3 for DOS Allows you to reproduce tapes from tape image UEF files via your sound card output
FreeUEF r3 for Windows Allows you to reproduce tapes from tape image UEF files via your sound card output
MakeUEF 0.3b for DOS Allows you to create UEF tape image files from original Electron or BBC tapes via your sound card
MakeUEF 0.3b for Windows Allows you to create UEF tape image files from original Electron or BBC tapes via your sound card
MakeUEF 1.1 Allows you to create UEF tape image files from original Electron or BBC tapes via your sound card
Omnidisk Attempts to read any floppy disk inserted into a PC (limited by the hardware design of the PC)
UEF Reader 1.1 Allows you to replay BBC files actually on your original BBC with the use of a Java sound application and a cassette lead.
Xfer 4 Allows you to transfer BBC files betwen a PC and an original BBC.

 

File Conversion

These utilities convert program files or BASIC program listings from one file format into another.
