The DivMMC EnJOY ! is the successor of DivIDE produced in several variations. The disadvantage of the DivIDE was the Compact Flash (CF) interface that was used . The CF cards are becoming less readily available over time and are thus getting more expensive, while the SD cards are very popular and available in many sizes. Since almost any PC or laptop has an SD card slot, the transferring of software is very easy.
The DivMMC EnJOY ! Kempston joystick has an integrated interface for Atari compatible joysticks (the same interface used by the original ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and many others). There is an NMI (Non-Maskable Interrupt) button to access the menu of the operating system and a reset button (hurrah from all those who have a rubber keyboard Speccy!). It has 128 KB of memory (four times that of the DivIDE) and can be expanded to 512 KB of memory for future functions easy. The DivMMC comes with ESXDOS (v0.85) , which works with FAT and FAT32 so no additional software is required on the PC. The file types most used in ESXDOS are .TAP, which contain a complete game in 'tape' format in a single file. Other supported file formats are SNA and Z80 snapshot files and TRD files.
Of course you can also store your own files onto the card and load it. ESXDOS introduces the corresponding new BASIC commands to fully interact with the DivMMC EnJOY!
Ben Versteeg has again put a lot of work into the unit, if the number of posts in the WOS (World of Spectrum) forum during 2013 is anything to go by. There were a number of hurdles to overcome from the original design which spent quite a few years in the drawer and was co-developed by Mario Prato, who made changes for proper production. The first edition of the interface had a few "flaws " but which were corrected in the second edition . Initially, some additional jumpers were needed for correct operation on a Spectrum +128 (Toast rack ;-)), but in the second edition these are no longer necessary. Another revision is the correction of a wrong label on the jumper for the joystick port where enabled/disabled were the wrong way around. In addition, it is planned for the second edition to offer a housing for the interface.
The board is back in typical "sinclair black" colour and comes with an SD card that has some games and demos and is therefore immediately ready for testing out of the box.
Jumper Settings:
ZX Spectrum 16K, 48K , 48 + or +2 (gray model):
+2A/+3 jumper : open
+128 jumper : open
ZX Spectrum 128K "Toast rack":
+2A/+3 jumper : open
+128 jumper : closed
ZX Spectrum +2 A , +2 or +3 B:
+2A/+3 jumper : closed
+128 jumper : open
The DivMMC is compatible with all Sinclair ZX Spectrum models.

Joystick Interface settings:
In order to combine the DivMMC with other interfaces it comes with a Kempston joystick port. You can disable the joystick port on DivMMC using the jumpers.
The label in the first edition, however, is wrong - in fact it should be called "JOY1 / 0" and not "JOY0 / 1". To activate the joystick port, just put the jumper to the left position - to disable the Joysticport put in the right position.
To view the firmware of the DivMMC - the ESXDOS - to be able to upgrade to a new version, to be opened when the software is to upgrade to the statement that the jumper "Flash". The EEPROM is read so that an unintentional programming is not possible. If a firmware upgrade go wrong and show that the ROM is protected, you need to download the appropriate utility to protect repealed.

Conclusion
So the DIVMMC EnJOY! is almost the same as the DivIDE but not quite. SD cards are more practical to use. Aside from this, the two units are almost the same. What's great is of course the Kempston joystick port. SD card in, plug joystick in, start playing. It' so much more comfortable to play with a joystick in most games, so this is very handy. Unfortunately, the space required behind the Spectrum is slightly larger (11.5 cm) than with the DivIDE 2k11, which is extremely small and where the expansion port is connected vertically - even though there is a joystick interface, the DivIDE requires no more than 8cm.
In this interface, the choice between several systems is gone - you previously were spoiled for choice between FATware and other systems, but with the EnJOY! only ESXDOS is possible.
Also, I 'm always a bit wary when I press the NMI button because the interface is easily pushed down which is potentially not so good for the old hardware. In one test, micro SD cards worked in the SD Card adapter without any problems.
The DivMMC Enjoy! has closed the gap on the Interface 1's functionality :-)
