"The blue"

Introduction: Gauntlet Legends, is one in a list, of ''Gauntlet games'', and just happens to be the only one, I've played, as of yet. It was an arcade game, and I've heard many people say, the ''Nintendo version'' of the game, ruined it, I can't compare, since I have not played the arcade game, but I CAN say, this game is great.

Graphics: Well, there not the best in the world. The game takes place in an over head view. You can see what everything is, just not in the greatest detail. The boss's, are the coolest graphics in the game.

Play Control: Very simple. Pretty much, the ''A'' button, gets used so much, it might just die, after playing the game. ((Note: That was a joke. Move along.)) If the game, showed a chart, of how many times the ''A'' button was pressed, after beating the game, it would probably be around a million. The ''A'' button, which gets used so much, is used to attack, from long range, anyway. You can use the ''B'' button, to use potions, ''Z'' for turbo attacks, and thats really all you have to know.

Music: The in-game music, isn't anything, really good, but the music that plays in the game's introduction, with the organs, and everything, is awesome. Oooo. You might get into the game even more, when it starts, you might sit and listen to it, all night. Er, well, maybe not, but its still good.

Sound Effects: Well nothing to remember. But, the character's DO talk. ''YUM!'' ''Food is good.'' ''The green Warrior is about to die!'' And the such. Just be glad, they shut up, most of the time.

Story: A 'great sage', Summner (Sp?) lives in a tower, and makes gate ways, to the four worlds, to keep peace, or something. Or, does he just like opening gates? His jealous Brother, Garm (Sp?) Learns the ways, of the black arts, to find a way, to rule the tower. One day, he breaks into the tower, when Summner is gone, and sits Thirteen 'Rune stones' in a circle. It opens a gate, to the underworld, and the evil Demon, Skorne (Sp?) Comes out. Garm, thinking he has completed his mission, looses concentration, and is easily over powered by the powerful, demon. Skorne, hid the Rune stones, to protect his home world, and he then made an army of darkness, he gave four shards of sacred glass, to his royal guard's, and made his home, in to the shrine, on the other side. When Summner came home, and found all this, he also found, his powers were drained, and stored in ''Oblisk's.'' He summoned, four hero's, and used his last remaining powers, to unlock the gate, to the ''Mountain world.'' WHEW! **Takes deep breath** ((Note: The ''Sp?'''s, are not questions, I don't want them answered. Sheesh! ))

Gameplay: This game, is an over head, 3.D action game, you must fight through level's, and hoards of enemies, in real time combat. In the game, you must go through the four world's, Mountain, Castle, Town, and Ice. You must collect the ''Oblisk's'', to free Summner's power, and open new gates. You must beat the boss's, to get the four shard's of sacred glass. Once you have, all four, your'll be able to enter, Skorne's shrine. There are also ''Boss weapons''. Once found, they will some how, help fight one of the boss's. First things first, you must choose one of four hero classes. ''Warrior'', ''Wizard'', ''Valkyrie'', and the ''Archer''. The ''Warrior'', My character of choice, is strong. The ''Valkyrie'', is beautiful and deadly, the Wizard is weak, and good at magic, and the archer is ugly and fast. Thats pretty much it. As you go through the level's, you will gain level's by fighting enemies. You will also gain gold. In between level's, you can shop with your gold, or sell things. Items are good, of course, but the best thing to buy, is up grades. You can buy, ''Strength'', ''Armor'', ''Speed'', or ''Magic''. ((Er, I think thats all of them..)) Anyway, different character's should by different things. The Warrior, should get, ''Speed'' and ''Magic'' first. The ''Wizard'', ''Strength'' and ''Armor'', the Archer, ''Armor'', And the Valkyrie, just about anything. The real reason, this games shines, is the multi-player mode. Up to four player's, can play 'co-op', through the level's. Save there character's, play again later, the depth and fun, is endless! Also, through out the game, your going to have to find, them hidden rune stones. And don't forget, fruit and meat, to heal H.P. Now, lets talk about enemies. Unlike most games, Enemies, in Gauntlet Legends, are made through generators, and these, generators, must be destroyed, before the enemies will stop. Enemies, can REALLY pile up on the screen, if you let them, and the best thing to do, if that happens, ((And, it will)) is use your ''Turbo attack'' with ''Z''. Each time you attack normally, you will fill your turbo meter, max it out, for the best turbo attack. There are tons of items, to help you in the game. Food for health, Hammers to kill all enemie's on the screen, Phoenix's for extra fire power, and the such. And best of all, each one can be shut down, with ''R'', and used later, or sold at the shop. There are also potions, that can be used as weapons, but the best thing to use these for, are ''Death''. He hides in treasure chests, and the such, to steal 100 H.P from you. Using a potion, will make him go away. How dare you, hurt Death's feelings! Did I say, Treasure chests? ((Sheesh, theres a lot to in this game...)) Use key's, to open locked doors, and chests. Also, some door's, will require switches, theres A LOT of switch pressing, there needed, for pretty much, everything. Theres more, too, but if I wrote the whole game out here, there would be no reason, for you to try it out.

Challenge: The main challenge, is that enemies, can easily surround you, and hack the H.P right out of you. And then, theres them annoying Archers / Bomber's. They sit way back, and shoot from a distance. This can get annoying. Please note, however, kicking the T.V screen, will not hurt them. No, there IN the video game.

Replay Value: Well, it all depends, on how you think.. Which reminds Me, of an old Zen saying. Once up-- **Hjjf, has three guns held to his head, and he stops the saying** Well, let Me get to the point, then. Theres not much to do, after you beat the game. really nothing, if your alone. There ARE secret character's to find, though. You can save your charcter on a controller Pak, and use it some where else, and you can also play with your friends, which keeps the replay value score, from being too bad.

Score Chart:
Graphics: 7 / 10
Play Control: 9 / 10
Music: 8 / 10
Sound Effects: 5 / 10
Story: 8 / 10
Gameplay: 8 / 10
Challenge: 7 / 10
Replay Value: 6 / 10
Overall: 8 / 10

Final word: If you just have, your self, or just one controller, then this game, will be pretty good for a little while. But, you won't get the 'Max' out of this game, unless you have at least ONE other player, to play with. ((Note: Taking a friend's meat and fruit, and the such, when they are in need of it, is annoying, and not wise, if the other person, has a weapon. ))
