"Fustrating Golf Game"

Challenge Pebble Beach

Take your game to Pebble Beach and prove that you have what it takes to out golf the world! Can you make it through the difficult holes to win at one. Challenge Pebble Beach is one of the most frustrating golf games I've ever played. Although it does have a pick your own handicap which I've never seen in a Nintendo golf game before. So props for the that but that's really all the props this game gets.

-Game Play- 3/10

Challenge Pebble Beach has terrible game play. The course is hard, which is fine but it got to the point were it was just down right frustrating. You could be 25 yards from the hole and easily hit the ball too hard and end up out of bounds.
The playing course wasn't hard at all but the controllers were very difficult to get use to. And if you have to aim? HA good luck the aim moves every 15 degrees making it very hard to get a good shot off. There are also plenty of other Golf games out there that are much better then Challenge Pebble Beach.

-The Audio- 2/10

The music for this game is horrendous! It has that annoying midi tune to it and after a while it starts to get to you. In fact half way through playing this game I muted the volume because I just couldn't take the 4 note midi tune anymore.
I suggest if you play this game to either mute it like I did or wear ear plugs.

-The Visuals- 3/10

The visuals are pathetic. It's very hard to see exactly where the ball is going to go. When you are closer to the hole your golfer literally stands on the course map and you hit the ball! I think this is one of the worst visuals I've seen every for the nes.

-The Verdict- 4/10

This game is not a good golf game by any means. The Nintendo game "Golf" is better then this by all means. I think they just through the name "Pebble Beach" on a golf game so people would see the name and think oh it must be good. Don't be fooled. While at times this game can be fun the frustration factor and controls totally kill any chance this game had at being good. This is defiantly one of those games you buy then play once or maybe even twice and then let it collect dust on your shelf.
